Counselling for Anxiety

An estimated three million Australians — one in every four of us — live with daily anxiety. While

everyone feels nervous from time to time, for some, the disquiet is chronic. It is the country’s most common mental health condition, and it can be debilitating and overwhelming, making it difficult to cope with everyday tasks. At EMJ Counselling, I offer tailored counselling for anxiety to help you lead an anxiety-free life.

Counselling for Depression

Did you know that every day 1 in 7 Australians suffer from depression? While that figure is alarming, not all hope is lost. As a depression counsellor serving the Albury Wodonga region, I can help you overcome your symptoms, working alongside you to find a suitable support plan that’s right for you.

For me, it’s all about helping you discover the best, most healthy version of yourself. That means identifying symptoms and triggers and working together to find appropriate tools that help you manage and alleviate them.

What is Depression?

Depression is a mental health condition that is characterised by feelings of sadness, loss, or anger. These feelings can last for extended periods of time and can interfere with a person’s ability to function in their everyday life. Depression is more than just feeling down or going through a tough time — it is a serious condition that can impact every aspect of a person’s life.

Some symptoms of depression include:

  • Persistent feelings of sadness or emptiness

  • Feeling hopeless or pessimistic

  • Irritability or frustration

  • Loss of interest or pleasure in hobbies and activities

  • Decreased energy, fatigue or feeling slowed down

  • Difficulty concentrating, remembering, or making decisions

  • Disturbed sleep

  • Changes in appetite or weight

  • Physical symptoms, such as headaches or stomachaches

  • Feelings of worthlessness or guilt

  • Frequent thoughts of death and suicide
